Sedan to Sedan: A Big Thank You I would like to take a moment to thank everyone that helped make the "Sedan to Sedan" trip a success. Hosting our friends from Sedan, France was a wonderful experience for our school and our students. Meeting and collaborating with the French students provided our students with the opportunity to understand both the differences and similarities of the two cultures. Our students have gained a better understanding of the French culture and have made life-long friends. This experience would not have been possible without the hard work of so many dedicated people. Thank you to Linda Mays and the Re-imagine Sedan students for coordinating and planning this event, as well as serving as ambassadors for our school. Thank you to the USD286 BOE for approving and supporting the project. Thank you to Mrs. Hill for going the extra mile to make sure all our visitors were welcome in our school and for providing them an opportunity to engage in authentic classroom experiences. Thank you to the host families for opening your homes and giving your time, energy and support to our new friends. Thank you to our caring community for your support. A special thanks to Reta Pipher for hosting the students at her ranch, Nita Jones for proving an excellent tour of Sedan, Mary Kurtis for allowing the students to explore and experience Red Buffalo Ranch, the Sedan Chamber of Commerce for providing lunch and the Chautauqua Baptist Church for hosting dinner. In addition, thank you to everyone who hosted, attended and helped with impromptu gatherings and social events. Thank you to our dedicated faculty, who provided our visitors with excellent classroom experiences and to our students who welcomed our visitors with open arms and open minds. In addition, I would like to thank Mrs. Malvy, Mr. Ibanez and Headmaster Michnik, as well as the 19 French students who worked so hard and traveled so far to visit. These individuals were gracious guest who represented their school, community and country with the upmost class and dignity. We are truly blessed to have had the opportunity to meet you. Until next time, Au Revoir Nathan Hinrichs Superintendent of Schools Chautauqua Co, USD 286
